Several cars were destroyed after they burst into flames tonight in the Brussels business district of Saint Gilles amid fears of a possible terror attack.
Early reports suggest that there may have been up to three blasts, although there has been on official confirmation of a terrorist explosion.

There are no reports yet of what caused the explosions or whether they are part of a terrorist attack.

The fire is less than two miles from the European Parliament and three miles from the European Commission offices.
A number of vehicles – believed to be eight cars – are on fire.
