Kerala, Kozhikode: The 13-year-old boy, who was stabbed to death at Madavoor in Kozhikode on Friday morning, lost his life while defending self from a man who tried to force him into unnatural sex, the police said. The victim, Abdul Majid, was an eighth standard student of CM Centre High School at Madavoor. Shamsudeen, the accused, allegedly stabbed the boy in broad day light. He approached the boy earlier also, at least five times. But he was snubbed every time, the police said quoting his schoolmates.
The deceased boy, son of Mammootty Saqafi (Khatib of Juma Masjid, Kallanji, Mahe), a resident of Kalloor Pazhancherykkunnu Chirayil in Mananthavadi, was killed on the premises of his hostel on Friday morning. Majid was also a student of CM Centre Junior Daw’wa College. There were no classes in the madrassa on the day and some students were playing on the ground and some others were returning to the hostel after bath when Shamsudeen approached them. He tried to catch some boys. When they managed to wriggle off, he got hold of Majid. When the boy tried to escape, Shamsudeen stabbed him on the stomach. There was no apparent provocation for the attack.
Majid ran into the Madrassa to his teacher crying out for help, but swooned before he could reach him. Though he was rushed to a private hospital nearby and then to the Medical College, Kozhikode, his life could not be saved. He succumbed to injuries by 9.30 in the morning.
A police team headed by DCP G. Jayadevan made the inquest and forensic experts collected evidence from the spot of the crime.
The authorities of CM Makham do not know much about Shamsudeen, who landed there in the early week of this Ramadan. He had not given the original address either.
